Our dog boot camp is an intensive, professional boarding and training program followed by a series of handler sessions. It is the perfect option for people who have little time to devote to training a dog. Also, a doggy boot camp is a great option for families going on vacation who want their dog trained while they are away. Many candidates come to us with severe behavioral issues such as anxiety or aggression, but we also specialize in refining the basic obedience foundation in dogs with previous training experience.
While your dog is boarded, he or she is trained two to three times daily: in our facility, outside, near shopping centers as well as around other dogs, squirrels, people, cars, etc. In other words, the Beyond The Leash trainers introduce your dog to as many different circumstances as possible. The longer your dog stays with us, the more exposure we are able to provide. Between dog training sessions, your pet will receive affection, potty breaks, scheduled meals, and treadmill workouts.
At the end of boarding and training, you will have your first handler lesson. At this time, you will schedule a series of handler sessions, during which Scott will teach you how to work with your dog. Beyond The Leash dog training strongly emphasizes the completion of these follow up sessions to make your pet’s training as long lasting and effective as possible. As we often say, dog training is less about teaching your dog and more about teaching you how to handle him.
You must have a first have a consultation with Scott to find out if your dog is a candidate for our dog boot camp in Massachusetts. Your dog must be up to date on his rabies vaccine and have a health certificate (wellness exam) dated within 10 days of his start date in order to be eligible for this program.
